To help our fourteen hundred students grow in balance and beauty, we employ two hundred and fifty dedicated faculty in a beautiful complex of 12 000 square meters. Our facilities are aimed to serve a holistic education that goes beyond the textbook: five science labs allow students hands-on experience in the practicalities of theory; two prayer rooms help students to find peace for communion and contemplation throughout their busy day; a gymnasium, swimming pool, and ballet room provide excellent facilities for team sports, fitness, and the expressive arts, promoting a body/mind synthesis so important to health and happiness; two computer labs provide students with access to state-of-the-art technology for life in a rapidly changing world; an amphitheater and gallery provide forums for students to share spectacles and exhibitions with life-long friends, family, and peers; two libraries provide quiet resource for in-depth research in a vast number of subject areas; andseven yards are given for rest, play, and laughter, so that none of us forgets that school means not only hard-work, but also joy… 

 

 

 

This friendly place is also responsible for teaching our children a precious life-long lesson: the road to the top is long and hard, andbeing able to climb it requires strong effort and invincible patience. Above all, it requires everyone to strive for excellence and the knowledge that being excellent isn’t necessarily being better than others. Being excellent means to grow one’s natural potential to perfection, and onlythose able to do so can be considered successful.

 

 

If the goal of our holistic education is to grow balanced, hard-working, and happy women, it is indeed because we believe that only such women can become successful in their personal and social life. And our mission, here, at Shahid Mahdavi Educational Complex, is to build a firm platform forthe future success of our girls.

 

That is why the academic success of our students is our major preoccupation. An acceptance to one of the best universities in Iran or abroad is a decisive step toward other accomplishments in one’s life. And if this academic success is the final stage of our holistic curriculum, it is because this major achievement is the product of all the lessons our children have learned in our school during all those years with us: independence, reflection, social skills, responsibility, and self-confidence. 

 

 

 

Our school has also found its own way and has become the home of a big family. Not only do our colleagues, parents, and children know each other, but they also participate actively in the life of the school. Some of our parents are also colleagues and some of our colleagues were previously students. We become very happy when we see that in some families two, or even three generations are beside us!

 

As testament to the friendly atmosphere that has been a characteristic of our school since its creation, many founding faculty are still working with Mrs. Mahdavi.But the best example is the children themselves. Most of our graduates have grown up together and have been friends since pre-school. The strong relationships they have created during these years, and which sometimes extend to their families, represent a promise of care and affection for their entire life. Whatever way they choose to take, our children never walk alone.

 

 

The family of our school is dedicated to encourage and help our children to become active seekers in their quest for knowledge; thus we are all united by our love of learning. This love gives us the energy to go always further by daily welcoming the new lessons of life and making each of them a new opportunity to grow. This love also led us to find, in Iran or abroad, other schools and other people who try to uphold similar values. We have thus become the partners and members of different networks that regularly organize international competitions and events in which our students and teachers can participate to make acquaintance, perform joint projects, and dialogue with students and teachers in schools from all over the world.

 

Besides these encounters, our passion for teaching and learning has led us to continually study the science of education and human development. Through this we have learned that for the total growth of children we need to be thinking and planning for their mental, spiritual, and physical dimensions. Our educational department is familiar with the practices and benefits of diverse pedagogical approaches, and our professional knowledge, grown with the years, has enabled us to build a complete curriculum designed to guide our daughters to become self-realized women.
